What are press on nails?

Press on nails here at Chewingurnails are handmade nail sets made in Singapore that are applied using adhesive tabs or nail glue. They offer the look of salon nails without long appointments or permanent commitment.

Are press on nails safe for my natural nails?

Yes, when applied and removed properly, press on nails are generally less damaging than acrylic or gel extensions. Proper prep and gentle removal are key to keeping natural nails healthy.

How long do press on nails last?

Wear time varies depending on your lifestyle and the application method used. When applied with nail glue, press on nails can last up to 2–3 weeks or longer. Adhesive tabs are best for short-term wear of 2–4 days, making them ideal for short outings.

Are press on nails reusable?

Yes. With careful removal and proper storage, press on nails can be reused multiple times. Store them in the provided nail case, away from direct sunlight and moisture, to help maintain their shape and quality between wears.

What’s the difference between handmade soft gel press on nails and mass-produced plastic press on nails?

Handmade soft gel press on nails are crafted using flexible, high-quality gel materials for a lighter feel, better fit, and a seamless, salon-like finish. ChewingurNails uses Aprés® soft gel nail tips and only high quality gel products for every order. Each set is customisable in both design and sizing, and is made to be durable and reusable with proper care.

Mass-produced plastic press ons are made in bulk using rigid plastic moulds. They are typically non-customisable, more prone to cracking, and intended for short-term or one-time use, with limited comfort and reusability.

Order Guide

Do you offer rush orders?

Yes, rush orders are available on a limited basis.

Rush orders are defined as orders requested to be completed earlier than the standard 2–3 weeks processing time. Where possible, orders may be ready as early as the next day, depending on current workload. A SGD 15 fee per set applies to all rush orders.

For local Singapore orders, customers may opt for self-collection (free) or same-day delivery if they prefer not to use standard tracked mailing for their rush order.

How to place a rush order:

  1. Contact me via Instagram DMs @chewingurnails or email chewingurnails@gmail.com to confirm rush order availability and let me know your preferred receive-by date.
  2. Once confirmed, the Rush Order Fee link will be sent to you — add it to your cart with your nail set(s).
  3. Proceed to checkout.

How can I order a design I saw on your page that is not listed in the Pre-Designed Sets collection?

If you have seen a design on my Instagram or past posts that is not currently available under the Pre-Designed Sets collection, it will be classified as a Recreation Design Set.

Please refer to the steps under “How do I order a Recreation Design Set?” below for the full ordering process.

How do I order a Custom Design Set?

Custom Design Sets are unique sets that are created based on your moodboard or inspiration photos. A design draft will be shared for review, with up to three revision rounds included. Additional revisions beyond this will incur extra charges.

How to order:

  1. Visit the Custom Design Sets page.
  2. Select your preferred design tier and complexity (Essential, Signature, or Elevated).
  3. Fill in the required details.
  4. Proceed to checkout.
  5. A design draft will be shared within a few days to one week.
  6. Production begins once the design draft is confirmed.

How do I order a Mystery Set?

Mystery Sets allow full creative freedom, with designs thoughtfully created based on your moodboard or inspiration images from the artist's interpretation. The final design will only be revealed once the set is completed and ready to be shipped.

How to order:

  1. Visit the Custom Design Sets page.
  2. Select Mystery Set and choose your preferred design complexity (Simple or Complex).
  3. Fill in the required details.
  4. Proceed to checkout.

How do I order a Recreation Design Set?

Recreation Design Sets are a full recreation of an existing design by me or another artist.

How to order:

  1. Select the design you would like recreated.
  2. Send me your design via Instagram DMs @chewingurnails or email chewingurnails@gmail.com to receive a design tier and pricing quote.
  3. Visit the Custom Design Sets page and select the confirmed design tier and complexity (Essential, Signature, or Elevated).
  4. Fill in the required details
  5. Proceed to checkout.

Can I purchase replacement nails if I misplace a few?

Yes, absolutely. If you happen to misplace a nail, replacement nails are available starting from SGD 2.50, depending on the design and can be purchased via the Gift Cards & Add-Ons page.

What is the processing time for orders?

The standard processing time is 2–3 weeks from the date your order is placed or when your design draft is confirmed (For Custom Orders). You’re welcome to reach out at any point during this period if you’d like an update on your order’s progress. If additional time is required to complete your order, you will be notified accordingly.

What payment methods are accepted?

All major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayNow and PayLah are accepted. (For PayNow and PayLah payments, please send your proof of transfer via Instagram DMs @chewingurnails or email chewingurnails@gmail.com to confirm your order)

What if I have questions before or after placing my order?

Sizing

How do I choose the correct nail size?

For the most accurate fit, an optional but highly recommeded Sizing Kit is available for purchase to measure your nails with ease. Visit the Sizing Guide for alternative methods to measure your nails at home. Taking the time to measure carefully helps ensure the best fit and comfort.

What if I’m between sizes?

Nails should sit flush on the nail bed without overlapping the skin. If you are in between sizes, it is recommended to size up and gently file the sides for a better fit.

What if I’m unsure about the right shape or length on me?

Contact me via Instagram DMs @chewingurnails or email chewingurnails@gmail.com and share the shape and length you’re considering, along with photos of your nails using the coin method from the Sizing Guide. Images will be shared afterwards to help you visualise how the nail tips will look on you.

Can I reuse sizing details from a previous sizing kit?

1. Sizing kit purchased from another artist
Yes, sizing details may be reused only if the kit from another artist uses Aprés Natural Nail Tips.

2. Aprés Natural Sizing kit previously purchased from me (or another artist) but the shape or length differs from the set you’re purchasing
Yes, sizing details may still be used. Please clearly state the shape and length of the sizing kit along with your sizes under the nail measurements section of the product listing so your sizes can be cross-referenced.
Do note that there may be slight millimetre differences between shapes and lengths.

Application & Wear

Is application of press on nails difficult?

Press on nails are beginner-friendly and do not require professional tools. An application guide will be included in your order to walk you through each step.

Do you include an application prep kit?

Each set includes essentials needed for application and wear. Optional prep kit add-on items are available and can be purchased via the Gift Cards & Add-Ons page.

Can I shower, wash my hands, or swim with them on?

Yes. Once fully set, press-on nails are suitable for everyday activities such as washing your hands or showering. For best results, apply your set before bed and avoid water exposure for the first hour after application. Prolonged or frequent exposure to water may reduce wear time, especially when using adhesive tabs.

Removal & Servicing

How do I remove the nails safely?

Removal should always be done by submerging your hands in a mixture of warm water, oil and dish soap for about 15 minutes or longer before gently using the provided cuticle pusher tool to remove the nails from your natural nail beds. Do not use acetone for removal, as this may damage the surface of your press-on nails. Never force or pry the nails off, as this may damage your natural nails.

Do you offer servicing for press-on nails?

Yes. Complimentary servicing is available for local orders only. To proceed, simply send your nails back for servicing, and they will be shipped back to you at no additional cost.

Servicing may include the removal of glue build-up behind the nails, touch-ups for surface scratches, or adjustments to help re-secure charms or strengthen adhesion where needed.

Shipping

[Local SG Orders Only] How can I request same-day delivery?

Only applicable to local SG rush orders. Same-day delivery will appear as 10 SGD at checkout.

A second payment will be required to top up the remaining delivery fee once the final courier cost is confirmed (estimated total: $15–$30). You will be contacted on the day of delivery for the arrangement of the balance payment as the delivery rates are checked in real time and fluctuate throughout the day.

How long does delivery take once my order is shipped?

Delivery times may vary depending on location and shipping method selected:

  • Local tracked mail: 2–4 business days
  • Standard international delivery: 6–16 business days
  • Express international delivery: 2–5 business days

Please note that delivery timelines are estimates and may be affected by courier-related factors.

What if I entered the wrong shipping information?

If any shipping information is incorrect, please reach out as soon as possible so assistance can be provided before the order is shipped.

Changes that require reprinting of the shipping label may be possible and may incur an additional shipping fee, depending on the courier’s policy. In some cases, this may be waived.

Once an order has been shipped, changes will no longer be possible.

What should I do if I suspect my parcel is lost or damaged?

If your parcel appears to be delayed, marked as delivered, or arrived as damaged, please get in touch via Instagram DM @chewingurnails or email chewingurnails@gmail.com within 48 hours of the latest delivery update or upon delivery. I’ll be happy to assist by following up with the courier and helping to initiate a trace where possible.

Please note that courier investigations can take time, and the search process for missing parcels may take up to 3 months, depending on the courier. Compensations and reimbursements will be on a case basis and support will be offered throughout the process to help reach the best possible outcome.

What if I can’t find my country at checkout?

International shipping is available for most countries. If your country isn’t listed at checkout, please reach out via Instagram DM @chewingurnails or email chewingurnails@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to make the necessary arrangements for you.

What is DDP shipping and is my country eligible for it?

DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) means taxes and duties are calculated and paid at checkout, so you typically won’t need to handle customs payments upon delivery.

Most international destinations are eligible for DDP. However, some countries only accept DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid), where taxes and duties must be paid by the receipient directly to customs before the parcel is released. You may refer to the DDU-only country list here.

Please note that even if your country is not listed under DDU-only, customs authorities may still charge additional taxes or handling fees upon arrival, especially when standard shipping is selected, as final assessments are determined by local customs.

If you prefer not to handle any customs payments or paperwork, it is best to select express shipping for a smoother delivery experience.
